Q | How do I add a box to my LibGuides home page? |
I want to add some content to our LibGuides home page, but can't figure out how to do it. Is there any way to add different kinds of boxes?

You can configure your home page however you'd like. There are standard boxes available for your home page, but you can also add whatever content you want. Here's the catch: That content box must exist on a guide somewhere in your system before you can add it to your home page. For example, you could have an unpublished guide that contains content boxes for your home page and/or other boxes you reuse in your system on other guides.
So, to add a content box to your homepage:
Create the content you want to display on your home page in another guide.- Find the box ID:
- Mouse over the edit link for the box (in the header bar).
- A tooltip will appear giving you the box ID.
- Write down the box ID.
- Go to System Settings - Customize Homepage in the My Admin area. (You must be a system administrator to do this.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and find the section Ordering of Content Boxes on the Homepage.
- Enter your box ID in one of the boxex (left, center, or right) based on where you want it to show up on your home page. For example, if you want it in the left hand column at the top, you'd enter your box ID in the Left Column Boxes text box as the first item in the box.
- When you have your box IDs where you want them, click Save the Homepage Layout.
